DREAMS

God and Dreams:

What does the bible say about having goals and dreams?

Psalm 37:4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

GOD himself wants to give you the desires of your heart.  He wants to fulfill the dreams he's placed inside you.

Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Acts 2:17:
“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.

Phil 2:13: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do his good pleasure.

Proverbs 29:18: Without a vision the people will perish.

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing; that he which has began a good work in you will preform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

The following "The example of the athlete is an Exert from:

The example of the athlete

1.Corinthians 9:24-27 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
And every man that striveth in the mastery, is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
But I keep my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

We have a lot to learn from an athlete. The athlete’s dream and goal is to win.  Without this dream and goal they won’t get very far in the competition. They will be incapable of beating their competitors. In a top athlete there is quite a lot of training and self-control. Before him or her has reached that goal they’ve also experienced quite a lot of defeat.

The reason for them becoming top athletics is not because they’ve never lost a fight, but because they’ve stood up again and not lost their dream.

It’s been said that the psychological side of it is just as important as the physical side. If an athlete loses faith in winning he has already lost. When they’ve lost a fight they must put it far behind and look forward to the next game. During the Olympic games in Atlanta in 1996, the Norwegian women’s national soccer team played in order to win the gold medal, and that was their goal. But they were beaten at the semi-final. That was a great defeat for them. A couple of days later they played another game, the bronze medal finale And even though they still felt the defeat, they had gotten their faith back in winning this game, and they did! If they had let the game of defeat rule over them, they never would have won the bronze medal.

A top athlete has a dream to be the very best, but he or she knows that they won’t reach that goal right away. They need to have partial goals, and when they have achieved that goal, they have a new partial goal until they become the very best. And when they’ve become the very best, their goal is to continue to stay the best. As long as they are athletes they will have a goal to strive for.

So don’t let your dreams die. Hold on to it and keep up the good fight, and you will win in the end.  Remember that nothing is impossible with God. You can do it, just don’t give up!

HEART TO HEART:

Daydreaming:

I want to sing. . I want to write beautiful songs for the Lord. . I want to lead people into God's presence through worship leading.  I want to dance. . I want to be radiantly healthy and teach others about natural health. . I want to be an amazing financial advisor by helping others learn to be good stewards of the resources God had poured out upon them. . I want to be a godly wife and a wonderful friend. . I want to be pleasing in the sight of my creator.

Father

Thank you for placing desires upon my heart.  I am asking and believing for a manifestation of these dreams to begin to unfold according to your will.  I am ready and willing to take necessary action toward them.  You are my everything.

With all my love and complete adoration,

Your child
